We are a talented group of first class musicians, with a solid reputation and many outstanding performances behind us.
We perform as a classic string quartet combining two violins, viola & cello, whilst also offering a string trio option.
We have a wealth of experience playing at Weddings and Events, and are a preffered supplier to numerous wedding venues and event planners in Melbourne.

Founded in 1998, by four music students at The University of Melbourne and The Victorian College of the Arts, the quartet has evolved into a collective of some of the finest, most dynamic string players in Melbourne.
Our talented musicians perform regularly throughout Australia and overseas as soloists and in elite chamber ensembles and prestegious orchestras.
Just a few of the artists Animata String Quartet musicians have had the pleasure of touring and performing with are Hugh Jackman, Barry White, Gotye, Lior, Tommy Emmanuel, Paul Kelly, The Whitlams, Gurrumul, Savage Garden, Il Divo, Josh Groban, Olivia Newton-John, Russell Watson, Chet Faker, Bonobo, John Farnham, Jerry Lewis, Kanye West, Barry White, Enya, Jon Stevens, Wendy Matthews, David Gates, Darryl Braithwaite, Renee Geyer, Caroline O’Connor and Glen Hughes.
Our musicians have made television appearances on shows including Dancing with the Stars, Spicks and Specks, Australia’s Got Talent, X-Factor, It Takes Two, Hey Hey It’s Saturday, The Arias 2007, Australia Day Live Concert 2008, Star Struck, Good Morning Australia, In Melbourne Tonight, New Faces and the Good Friday Appeal.
We have also performed in many musical productions such as Hamilton, Mary Poppins, The Boy From Oz, The Producers, Phantom Of The Opera, The Merry Widow, The King And I, Psycho, Doris Day and Mamma Mia!
