The Best String Quartet in Melbourne!

The Animata String Quartet plays a range of musical styles; from classical favourites, to Latin American Tangos, Pop, Romantic and Jazz arrangements.

Based in Melbourne, the Animata String Quartet is a professional, experienced and well presented group of musicians who are committed to providing high quality music at a range of important occasions.

Our members studied at The University of Melbourne and Australian College of the Arts and have played with groups as varied as the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Australian Pops Orchestra, Victorian Concert Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Australian Classical Players, Geminiani and Junge Philharmonie Koln.

We have had the pleasure of performing in concert with artists such as:

• James Morrisen
• Michael Crawford
• Tommy Emmanuel

as well as numerous well known classical musicians.

We have performed for major media events such as:

• AFL Grand Final
• The Footy Show
• Ray Martin Show
• Rove Live
• Spicks and Specks

as well as in the musicals The Lion King and Phantom of the Opera.

We have also backed Train in their song Drops of Jupitor and Kanye West for his U2 “Make Poverty History” shows.

Venues we have performed at include Moonee Valley and Flemington Racecourses, Brunswick St restaurants, Yarra Valley wineries and Chapel St night spots, as well as numerous reception centres throughout Victoria.
